“It’s like a community in that it’s truly a supportive environment,” Andrea says. “We help each other out.”
Like the time Onalee had the class make three short films in one weekend.
“That was fun, learning all the different sides of production. And I like when Onalee brings in guest speakers from all different parts of the industry. You feel this is the real world.”
Has she changed since studying with Onalee? “Yes!” says “Andrea. I’ve overcome my shyness. I’ve learned to play the truth of a scene. Onalee paid me a nice compliment recently after a scene I’d done – I may not have gotten all the lines right but it didn’t matter here because I played the scene so realistically! So I was very happy about that!”
I think I’ve gotten better because Onalee pays such close attention, helping you bring truth to a scene. This makes her training different.
